It's a tough budget. But based on what I know now, I think I would allocate a third of it to eye and face pro, gloves and boots. I'd probably pick up a plate carrier and some pouches. I'd then save the remaining 100-120, rent a bit long and figure out what style of gun I'd like to pick up.
The stuff I picked up first would compliment a rental, until I can figure out what style of play I was into.
