About the Movement

What is Radio Check?

Radio Check is a mental health awareness movement that started within the airsoft community. The name comes from a simple radio protocol: are you there? Do you copy?

Behind every mask, under every set of kit, there is a real person. One who might be carrying more than just a replica. One who might be fighting a battle no one else can see.

Sometimes the strongest players are the quietest when it matters most. Radio Check exists to change that. To make checking in feel natural. To make talking feel safe.

Airsoft.Bio is not affiliated with Radio Check. We support the mission and want to help raise awareness.

The Name

A radio check is a protocol that asks: are you there? Do you copy? Repurposed as a call to check in on your people.

The Mission

Normalise mental health conversations in airsoft. Look out for the signs. Reach out before it gets serious.

The Ask

Take 2 seconds to check in on someone in need. A simple message can make a big difference.

The Community

Founded by airsofters, echoed by the airsoft community. No one fights alone and no one should have to.

The Reality

Quick Reference Guide

Check In

Spot the signs. Start the conversation.

1

Spot the Signs

  • Quiet or withdrawn
  • Snappy or short-tempered
  • Always tired
  • Not showing up or cancelling
  • Saying 'I'm fine' but not acting it
Trust Your Gut
2

Act On It

If they are not themselves it is worth checking in. You do not need to have all the answers. Just being there is enough.

Do Not Ignore These

  • Talking about feeling stuck or hopeless
  • Big changes in mood or behaviour
  • Pulling away from everyone
3

What to Say

"You alright?" can make all the difference.

"You alright?"

"You've been quiet lately, everything good?"

"I'm here if you need to talk."

"I'm around if you need me."

It takes seconds to check in.

But it can mean everything.

Take Action

How You Can Help

You do not need to be a professional. You do not need all the answers. You just need to care enough to ask.

Send a Message

Even a simple "Hey, you OK?" can help. You do not need all the answers. Just reaching out is enough.

Listen

Sometimes just listening is enough. You do not need to fix anything or have solutions. Just be there.

Be Present

Being there can mean everything. Show up for your teammates on and off the field.

Direct Them

If they need more help, point them toward support. Know the resources and share them without hesitation.

They'll see your gear.

They won't see your thoughts.

They'll hear your voice.

They won't hear the battle in your head.

Key the mic. Say something. Someone's always listening.
