Proving Grounds

Proving Grounds is an outdoor woodland airsoft site at Skipwith, near Selby in North Yorkshire. It is promoted by Halo Mill Airsoft and hosted at Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park on the Escrick Park Estate, a 100-acre site between York and Selby. Operations run monthly on the first Sunday and are built around a single six-hour, continuous, objective-based game, with players free to leave and rejoin the battlezone as they please. Up to 300 players can take part. The terrain ranges from dense woodland to stricken vehicles and a large purpose-built airsoft bridge. Rental packages are limited to 15 per event so that new players get a thorough briefing. Facilities include a fully covered safe zone, toilets, an on-site kitchen serving hot and cold refreshments, a consumables and gear shop, and free HPA refills all day. The activity park lists tickets at £25 for members and £30 for non-members, with a minimum age of 14.
